چکیده

Muscle contractions preceding to high intensity activity can result in increased force and power generation (postactivation potentiation[PAP]). Although the type of muscular contractions could affect subsequent strength and power performance, little information exists on their effects. According to some authors augmentation is one of the most frequently used methods to acquire the strength and rapid reaction capacity of the muscle immediately. In this work was evaluated the effects of post-activation potentiation (PAP) for lower limb movements with eccentric and concentric sprinters . The study included 10 males with 15.8 ± 0.8 years, 67 ± 7.41 kg bw and 1.75 ± 0.07 m in height. The test had 05 sessions with a minimum interval of 72 hours between each session, with the first 3 familiarization sessions and testing of 1RM concentric and eccentric, then the collections have more tests in two sessions with one another in the concentric phase and the eccentric with 50m shot. The results presented here underscore the importance of training loads in concentric actions, because the speeds achieved are higher than those of the eccentric actions, showing significant gains in strength after the PPA of the concentric squat.

Feedforward and Feedback Function of Selected Lower Limb Muscles Following Plyometric Exercises and Cryotherapy

Purpose: Despite the widespread use of cryotherapy in sports fields there is a lack of certain evidence of its impact of it on muscle activation especially following fatigue-induced exercise. This study aimed to assess the impact of cryotherapy alone and after plyometric exercises on knee muscle activation during the drop jump task. Method: 35 active female subjects (mean age of 22.74±2.10, m...

Hamstring injuries in sprinters. The role of concentric and eccentric hamstring muscle strength and flexibility.

Eleven sprinters with recent hamstring injuries were compared with nine uninjured runners. The flexibility of the hamstrings and the eccentric and concentric muscle torque were measured in the hamstrings and quadriceps muscles at different angular velocities. Sprinters with a previous hamstring injury had significantly tighter hamstrings than uninjured sprinters had. The uninjured sprinters had...

Influence of Eccentric Training on Non Dominant Hamstring Strength in Sprinters

Study focuses on muscle imbalance of non dominant hamstring with dominant hamstring muscle of lower limb, which is one of the predisposing factor for injury. Moreover the injury is likely to occur in the eccentric phase ,the strength imbalance can also hinder the performance. Thereby aim of study is to determine the influence of eccentric training on Non – Dominant Hamstring Strength in Sprinte...

Background: The aim of the present study was to investigate the expression of TrKB, FNDC5 and SG6K1 protein in response to eccentric and concentric resistance training in healthy subjects. Methods: 10 healthy men were randomly assigned to two groups of concentric and eccentric contractions of 5 individuals each. Isokinetic contraction protocols included eccentric and concentric knee extension ...
